PRESS: Russian firms see problems with wheat exports

MOSCOW, Dec 18 (PRIME) -- Russian companies reported difficulties with wheat exports under the current contracts after a recent announcement of grain quotas and duties that are to come in force from February 15, business daily Kommersant reported Friday, citing three market sources.

An official at a large exporter said that the customs service suddenly started checking the exported cargo, suspending deliveries for up to 10 days. Another company had difficulties during the issuance of documents for grain exports by railway to a Baltic country and during shipment to the southern ports.

On Tuesday, the Russian government set a 17.5 million tonne tariff quota on grain exports and a 25 euro per tonne export duty on wheat from February 15 until June 30.
